What do we do?

This is a developing site with an expanding remit. Designing Libraries is an information resource - a means of gaining access to good practice, and identifying relevant sources of information.

What we provide now:

  • A database of descriptions and images of recent completed, and in progress, UK and worldwide public library building projects.
  • A resource for interactively sharing expertise and experience on library planning and design, through discussion forums and email lists.
  • Links to a range of on and offline resources useful to anyone involved in planning, designing or building libraries.

What are the things you would like us to do? Please tell us.

We are not able to make recommendations, or advise on specific projects. We also don't have the resources to answer specific queries, but will do our best to find relevant sources of information. If you can't find what you are looking for on the site, why not send your query to the email list?
