Refurbishment for Newent Library Building

Newent Library in Gloucestershire is soon to undergo a transformation with a major refurbishment planned during June and July 2009.

The aim is to "create a more welcoming, open, vibrant & inspiring 21st century library", in line with successful improvements that have been taking place within libraries across the county.

The refurbishments will include:

  • New carpeting throughout
  • Redecoration
  • Creation of a Quick Choice area aimed at customers who want fast access to the library
  • A new library counter
  • Improved internal signing and guiding
  • Improved layout
  • Creation of a new DDA toilet & baby change facilities for public use

The Library is expected to re-open on Monday 27th July.
